30 reasons to why I’m not running the marathon
After reading Kai Xiang’s entry on his reasons for joining marathon, I decided to pen mine down.
Although I wrote that I will be joining the marathon this year (which I did and paid for), I’ve decided not to go for it.
You must be wondering why did the STUPID SONOFABITCH paid S$75 (Yes! stupid me paid S$75 because I missed the early bird!) and chose not to run. Here are 30 reasons to back it up.
- I
did not trainhaven’t been training for the marathon, and I don’t want a repeat of having severe camps at the 21km mark and walking the other 21km back. - My right knee cap still hurts a lot (An injury I picked up during AHM ‘07), and it’s not advisible to run long distance for now.
- I love the feeling of sleeping until 12pm, people call it sibeh good life.
- It it not always that I get to sleep a marathon of 12 hours on a weekend morning.
- I don’t need to join marathon to be able to spit legally on the roads. I always spit on the roads and never got fined.
- Legally littering on the roads? I always do that. It makes no difference, heh.
- I gian the goodie bag (which I’ve collected), containing an Adidas singlet and some other nonsensical stuff.
- I don’t have a jar of vaseline at home, so I don’t need to waste it.
- I don’t have a Timex sports watch, I don’t wear watches.
- I don’t wanna waste my pair of Asics trainer. I’ll wear it to sleep.
- I don’t need people to cheer for me. I am cheerful enough.
- I am motivated to run but (due to injury), I am more motivated to dry swim. Mahjong anyone?
- I have so much money I don’t know where to spend.
S$55S$75 registration fees is peanuts to me. - I’ve already spent S$75. I don’t want to waste another S$20 taking the cab to City Hall.
- I gian my pillow and bolster more than the free flow of 100plus and bananas.
- I have a date with my bed.
- I don’t need people to take photographs for me. I take photographs for people.
- Girls in running attire are hot. Girls in my AV collection are even hotter!
- I have something better to do (i.e. Sleeping).
- I like to snore. Snoring is good. Heavy snoring is very good.
- It is not a waste to use my Adidas singlet and shorts just for sleeping (They are sibeh comfortable lor).
- I can boast to my friends that I joined the marathon and pong tang (skip) it. How many of them have?
- I already have a finisher tee and medal. Sometimes one is enough. Can’t be too greedy.
- I see it as a personal challenge and achievement to sleep longer. I hope to hit 14 consecutive hours!
- Sleeping has become a
lazyhabit. - Sleeping is THE BEST WAY to spend the lazy Sunday morning.
- I am under peer pressure. My friends are already clocking 13 - 14 hours of sleep, darn!
- I don’t have any canvassing job. I don’t need to siam anything.
- I wanna lose weight. I will lose weight (soon).
- I wanna attend the Singapore Writers’ Festival, where popular bloggers like Kenny, Ming (Nuffnang co-founder), Miyagi, she bakes and she cooks will be there to share their experience.
Dear marathon, I will see you again next year (Hopefully).
